Treasure Island

Our family vacation this summer brought us to Treasure Island, Florida. Uncle Mike and Aunt Lisa let us stay with them at their BEAUTIFUL house, right on the water. (Thank you, thank you, thank you!) Our week consisted of lounging in the pool, working on our tans, and hopping on the jet skis every few hours. You really can't beat riding jet skis with my dad alongside all the dolphins, which are everywhere in the Bay! Although, the Italian market came in a pretty close second place. HELLO authentic meatball sandwiches and gelato! Or Caddy's restaurant on the beach. White sandy beach, live music, and watching the sunset while eating our burgers. It was a happy, happy week full of sunshine, sand, many laughs, and pure summer bliss with the greatest family in the world.
Hardly left the pool all week.

Nothing quite like watching the Bachelorette on the outdoor TV while sipping Margaritas and Oranginas.

 Caddy's Restaurant on the beach.

 Italian Market

Meet my favorite drink in all the world.. Orangina.. A gem we found all over Paris, and then again here in Florida! My apologies for the lack of makeup and hairstyling.. Beach bummin' it.
If there's one thing I learned spending my summers in Lake Havasu, it's to be completely fearless on a jet ski. Probably my most favorite thing in the world. Thanks dad :)

Small Towns and Summer

This year, I decided to spend my summer days in Middlebury, Indiana. This town is straight out of a country song. We've got county roads, trucks and rednecks, lakes and boating, carnivals and fairs, and everything in between. And oh, plenty of good ol' country music. After work, I spend my days on our lake. You can usually find me napping on the back porch, splashing my feet in the water while eating a Popsicle, or circling the lake on our paddle boat with the neighbor friends. (by the way, our neighbors are the BEST). We spend our summer nights on the pontoon, BBQing, watching the fireflies flicker, and jamming to our favorite country music. Small town life isn't so bad!
Two highlights from this summer would have to be
1) the 4th of July. You haven't seen a true 4th of July until you've spent it on a lake in Middlebury. Our day was complete with kayaks, canoes, water bikes, pontoons, boat parades, BBQs, sparklers, 'Tangled' lanterns, and the longest, most incredible fireworks show we've ever seen! Nothing like watching a 3 hour fireworks show from the pontoon on the middle of the lake.
2) the Elkhart County Fair.. This fair is a big deal people. We're talking, the biggest county fair in the country. Easily the happiest night of summer. My parents and I ROCKED OUT 10th row at the hunter hayes concert. After the show, we ran around like giddy 5 year olds trying as much fried food and fair treats as we possibly could. Helloooo deep fried cheesecake!! I won't even begin to name all of the food we consumed, lets just say- Elkhart County Fair goes BIG.
So friends, if you need me, I'll be here.. On our lake, enjoying my summer days as a small-town girl in Middlebury.

Sweet Summertime

Summer 2013 has brought small towns, swimming, splashing, country music, family, best friends, carnivals, BBQs, boating, treats, and everything in between!

Paris in the Springtime

Once upon a time I spent two weeks in Paris, France with my favorite people. I have dreamed about spending Springtime in Paris since I was little. Well, that little girl's dream came true! After finishing freshman year of college, my best friend, my mom, and my mom's best friend jetted off to the City of Lights. Here are some highlights from our 2 weeks...
Our favorite daily activity: watching the sunset on the Seine
Bonjour from Tour Eiffel
Walking the streets of Paris with my best friend
Our favorite cafe at the Sacre Coeur.. Hello, Orangina overload!
